FIFA opens volunteer applications for U20 World Cup in Chile

May 6 – FIFA has opened applications for volunteers interested in supporting the FIFA U20 World Cup Chile 2025, which will take place from 27 September to 19 October across the four host cities of Santiago, Valparaíso, Rancagua, and Talca.

Around 1,000 volunteers will be selected to assist in 24 different operational areas during the 24-team tournament. Roles will include logistical support, media operations, and fan engagement, among others.

To apply, candidates must be at least 18 years old by 1 June 2025, have a good understanding of the English language, and be available for the full tournament period, including mandatory pre-event training. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, and some roles may require specific skills or experience.

Volunteers have long played an important role in FIFA tournaments, serving not only in an operational capacity but also as informal ambassadors for the host nation. The programme typically attracts students, professionals, and football fans seeking experience in live sporting events.

Applications will remain open until 5 June 2025, unless the volunteer quota is reached sooner. Interested applicants can register at volunteer.fifa.com.
