May 8 – Hot on the heels of yet another epic round of UEFA Champions League fixtures, Liverpool FC have launched a limited-edition retail collection commemorating the 20th anniversary of their legendary 2005 UEFA Champions League Final victory over AC Milan.
Known as the “Miracle of Istanbul,” Liverpool famously overcame a 3-0 half-time deficit to defeat AC Milan on penalties in one of the most dramatic comebacks in European football history.
The collection is designed to engage supporters and transport them back to this historic night. Fans can purchase special edition T-shirts, polo shirts, scarves, and hats, along with a new long-sleeve replica jersey modelled on the original match shirt. The collection also features a special blackout jersey with gold detailing and an NFC-enabled crest, plus signed memorabilia from the 2005 squad.
The NFC (Near Field Communication) technology embedded in the club logo allows fans to access team information, news, match schedules, and player statistics by simply tapping their smartphone against the jersey’s crest.
With Liverpool celebrating their 20th Premier League title, merchandise is selling rapidly. This collection serves as both a commemoration of the Istanbul triumph and a platform to share club history through products, strengthening emotional brand loyalty.
The campaign also features Sami Hyypiä, a member of the starting XI in Istanbul, who shares his memories of that epic night 20 years ago.
