May 12 – Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League fixture against Djurgården has sparked concerns over stadium security following widespread infiltration of the home end by away fans.
The breach, which occurred during Thursday’s match at Stamford Bridge, is being described by the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) as one of the most serious security failures at the ground in recent memory.
In response, the CST has announced it will formally lodge a complaint with Chelsea FC’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of Security. The supporters’ group is calling for an immediate investigation into how tickets were distributed and how the club’s security operations responded during the incident.
The CST insists that the results of any investigation, along with recommended actions, must be made available to the fanbase.
Supporters who were at the match have been invited to submit written, photographic, or video evidence of what took place. The CST will compile this material and forward it to the club as part of its formal complaint.
The Trust also revealed it had raised concerns in advance of the match with senior club officials regarding the potential vulnerability of home sections at the stadium.
“No supporter should feel unsafe while at Stamford Bridge,” the group said in a statement, stressing that it will continue pressing for a full explanation and concrete safeguards to prevent a recurrence.
