Saudi women’s coaches complete week-long exchange at Frauen-Bundesliga’s Frankfurt and RB Leipzig

May 16 – A week-long coaching exchange between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig has wrapped up in Germany, marking another significant step in Saudi Arabia’s growing investment in women’s football.

The programme brought a delegation of female Saudi coaches and officials to Germany, where they participated in a series of workshops, pitch-side training sessions, and strategic meetings focused on club structure, youth development, and best coaching practices in the women’s game. Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig are both recognised for their structured and professional approach to the development of women’s football.

The visit also included attendance at the Frauen-Bundesliga (Women’s Bundesliga) fixture between RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, offering the delegation a direct insight into the competitive environment of elite women’s football in Germany.

Saudi coaches also took part in delivering practical sessions at Eintracht Frankfurt, creating opportunities for direct knowledge-sharing and technical collaboration.

The partnership further strengthens SAFF’s international positioning as it seeks to align its sporting objectives with broader diplomatic and commercial ambitions. The exchange also supports the Bundesliga’s wider goals of international engagement and market development in the Middle East, particularly as German football looks to build deeper global networks in women’s sport.

“This week’s coaching exchange in Germany has provided invaluable experience and insights to support the development of our national coaching infrastructure,” said Aalia Al Rasheed, Head of Women’s Football at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

“For our coaches to witness the attention to detail, planning and strategy that goes into providing young players with a professional environment to continue their development is fundamental to ensuring our national game continues to grow. We thank Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and our international partners in Germany for their hospitality and we look forward to further collaboration in the future.”
