Law firm Hill Dickinson picks up naming rights to Everton’s new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium

May 19 – Everton’s new home at Bramley-Moore Dock will officially be known as the Hill Dickinson Stadium, following a landmark naming rights agreement with the Liverpool-based legal firm reportedly worth £10 million a year.

The club confirmed that the deal with Hill Dickinson – headquartered in the city and founded in 1810 – is one of the most financially significant naming rights agreements in European football. While terms were not publicly disclosed, the long-term partnership is expected to inject tens of millions of pounds into the club over the coming years, providing a vital boost as Everton transition into a new era.

The 52,888-capacity venue will open in August ahead of the 2025-26 season. Everton’s men’s team played their final game at Goodison Park on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Southampton – Senegalese forward Iliman N’Diaye scoring a brace to give the historic ground a fitting farewell. From next season, Everton Women will take over Goodison Park as their permanent home, preserving the stadium’s competitive legacy.

Though the naming rights deal represents a significant commercial milestone, the reaction among fans has been mixed. Many supporters acknowledge the financial necessity of the agreement, especially given the club’s recent fiscal challenges. For some fans, though the decision to brand the new stadium after a corporate law firm – however local – feels tone-deaf, particularly in the wake of an emotional farewell to one of English football’s most iconic homes.

Test events have already taken place at the new stadium, including an inaugural youth match between Everton and Wigan’s U-18 sides. Full-capacity crowds are expected from August, when the stadium officially opens its doors. The Hill Dickinson deal is one of several key steps Everton are banking on to help the club navigate both a competitive and financial reset in their new era on the Mersey waterfront.

Angus Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Everton, said: “Welcoming Hill Dickinson as our naming rights partner is a bold and strategic step forward. This partnership goes beyond branding – it’s a shared commitment to progress, excellence and the regeneration of our city. Hill Dickinson Stadium will stand as a symbol of Everton’s ambitions, our values, and the global future we are building together.”
