June 12 – Bulgaria’s Beroe Stara Zagora have launched a large-scale renovation of the Beroe Stadium – with the works set to cost 3.5 million leva, around €1.75million.
Funding for the renovation of one of Bulgaria’s largest stadiums will be provided by the Municipality of Stara Zagora through a grant from the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan. The project should be completed within a 270-day timeframe.
The project aims to enhance the building’s environmental performance by implementing highly efficient energy saving measures: achieving “class A” consumption and saving at least 30 per cent of the facilities primary energy.
All the doors and windows of the Beroe Stadium will be replaced, with thermal insulation systems installed to improve energy retention. The roofs’ thermal and waterproofing technology will also be replaced.
There will also be improvements to the official parking lot of the facility, where a photovoltaic power plant with 210 panels will be built. 21 metal stands will be installed, which will carry 10 panels each and perform a sun protection function for parked cars.
The project will also include the construction of an external elevator, as well as an accessible environment for people with disabilities.
The Head of the Sports Activities Department at the Municipality of Stara Zagora, Petko Krumov, assured that the necessary organisation has been created with the project contractor so that the repair work does not interfere with the matches of the Beroe football team for efbet League games.
“Access will be provided for the clubs that come to the football matches. We will create all the conditions for Beroe to start their participation in the championship normally,” said Krumov.
