June 30 – Despite the Club World Cup having completed its group stage and entered the last 16 knockout, FIFA has announced another sponsor partner in home improvement retailer The Home Depot, which becomes an Official Partner in North America.
The Home Depot is already Official Home Improvement Retail Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Romy Gai, chief business officer at FIFA said: “We are delighted to deepen our relationship with The Home Depot as the first ever FIFA Club World Cup enters the knockout stage. The Home Depot’s long-standing connection with communities across North America makes them an ideal partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.”
Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement retailer and has more than 2,300 outlets throughout North America and more than 500,000 employees. Company turnover is more than $132 billion annually.
With having FIFA struggled to fill stadia throughout the Club World Cup, the Home Depot’s customer base offers a significant opportunity to market to the US market. Home Depot is the sponsor but the bigger opportunity for this partnership is likely FIFA. No detail has been announced as to whether Home Depot paid a fee for the sponsorship or whether this is an in-kind marketing promotion for both parties.
“This tournament, which attracted nearly 1.7 million fans in the stands across the first 48 matches, is already showing the passion for football in the region and with The Home Depot on board, we look forward to reaching even more fans on the road to the final,” said Gai.
