Moore of the same at Wisla Kraków

July 8 – Peter Moore has done it again. The man who helped drag Liverpool from corporate chaos to Champions League glory, and is now trying to revolutionise American soccer with Santa Barbara Sky FC, has pitched up in Poland with a 5% stake in Wisła Kraków.

The former Liverpool CEO, and Xbox, Sega and Electronic Arts executive’s arrival at the historic Polish club isn’t just a vanity project for the tech millionaire. Moore’s track record suggests he knows what he’s doing when it comes to marrying tradition with innovation – something that served him well during his Anfield tenure and for his ambitions to shake up soccer in Santa Barbara.

Wisła chairman Jarosław Królewski was gushing with excitement: “Peter brings a level of experience and vision that Polish football has not seen before. His involvement validates our belief in combining community-driven values with a global outlook. He understands clubs like Wisła not just as football institutions, but as cultural pillars with deep local meaning.”

What makes this interesting is Moore’s own take on the move: “This is more than a project; it’s a journey built on legacy, innovation, and community. I have long admired clubs with deep heritage like Wisla Krakow. I’m honoured to contribute to a vision that blends respect for history with forward-thinking transformation.”

The club’s focus on “football-tech” and digital development sounds like exactly the sort of challenge that gets Moore’s blood pumping.

Whether this Polish adventure proves as successful as his Liverpool revolution remains to be seen. But if Moore’s previous form is anything to go by, Wisła Kraków just got themselves a serious upgrade.
