Concacaf kicks off another three years of GGTech gaming deal

August 20 – Concacaf has extended its partnership with tech-based gaming entertainment business GGTech for another three years. The extension follows the first year of the launch of Concacaf Kick-Off in 2024.

While football fans are changing the way they view and consume the game (latest figures say 90% of Gen Z and 94% of Gen Alpha call themselves gaming enthusiasts)  the Concacaf-GGTech digital platform  mixes traditional football with interactive gaming experiences, which has struck a chord with younger demographics.

“At Concacaf, we are committed to innovation and the growth of football, and our partnership with GGTech is a clear example of that,” said Philippe Moggio, General Secretary of Concacaf.

“With Concacaf Kick-Off, we aim to connect with young people through digital experiences that reflect their interests. Football must evolve to create opportunities for everyone to engage, enjoy, and develop a passion for the sport, ensuring its future and keeping it at the heart of every generation.”

For the past few years, streaming has dominated content consumption, but live events are gaining popularity among younger audiences. GGTech understands this shift better than most, with its GAMERGY festival having become the world’s largest celebration of esports, gaming, music, sports, and immersive entertainment.

Juan Diego García, CEO of GGTech Entertainment Americas, said: “New audiences consume entertainment differently. GAMERGY, the world’s largest festival of esports, gaming, music, sports, and immersive entertainment, now serves as a hub for Gen Z’s entertainment culture. Authenticity, connection, and engagement in young audiences’ communities are key. Together with Concacaf Kick-Off, we aim to bring one of the world’s leading football organizations to new audiences in line with evolving entertainment trends.”

Both GGTech and Concacaf plan to announce additional events and opportunities for players and fans across Mexico and the broader region in the coming months.
