August 21 – The Gainbridge Super League, a top-tier women’s professional soccer league in the United States, kicks off its second season on Saturday, August 23, 2025, highlighted by the debut of expansion team Sporting Club Jacksonville.
Following a historic inaugural season that saw Tampa Bay Sun FC crowned champions, the league enters the 2025/26 season with fresh talent, new rivalries and a new naming rights partner.
Amanda Vandervort, President of the Gainbridge Super League, said, “The momentum from our first season carries into an even bigger second season. With a new club, Sporting JAX, new rivalries, and more fans joining us, the Gainbridge Super League is growing on and off the field. This league is built with communities at the centre, and Season Two is about inviting even more people to be part of it.”
Eight teams will feature on the opening weekend with Brooklyn FC facing the current champions Tampa Bay, while Florida’s other team, Fort Lauderdale United hosts Lexington SC. The evening rounds out with Spookane Zephryr FC making the long trip south to Texas and the Cotton Bowl to face Dallas Trinty FC.
Most importantly for the league are the TV deals and the ability to showcase the matches in the United States & U.S. territories on Peacock, Canada with select matches on DAZN, and Central/South America, including Brazil on ESPN Latin America. The Caribbean region will be shown on ESPN Caribbean, while the rest of the world can be found on the USL platform on YouTube.
With a host of new signings, the Gainbridge Super League is set to compete with the National Women’s Soccer League and has scoured far and wide for fresh, exciting talent including Jordan Thompson (Brooklyn FC) – Australian A-League champion & former Washington Spirit defender, Meaghan Nally (Carolina Ascent FC) – NWSL champion with Portland Thorns, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, and Rylee Foster (Dallas Trinity FC) – Former Liverpool goalkeeper, Canada youth national team Golden Glove winner.
The Gainbridge Super League is also the first U.S. professional soccer league with a league-wide naming rights partner. Gainbridge, a financial services company, shares the league’s vision of building sustainable pathways and long-term success for athletes, fans, and communities.
Launched in 2024 and sanctioned by U.S. Soccer, the league is operated by the United Soccer League (USL).
