NWSL newcomers Denver Summit hire Legends Global to expand brand

October 7 – When building a franchise from the ground up, expertise is needed on and off the pitch. Denver Summit FC, the National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) newest expansion team, has taken the steps of bringing in commercial outfit Legends Global to oversee their business operations.

Legends Global will guide the Summit’s commercial partnerships, from stadium naming rights to shirt sponsorships and premium fan experiences. Its focus will include both the club’s temporary home and the new 14,500-seat stadium set for completion in 2028.

“Legends Global is a proven leader in the space and is aligned on our goal to be one of the best sports organisations globally,” said Jen Millet, the Summit’s president. “We are excited to collaborate with the Legends team as we build towards the 2026 season and beyond.”

With the emergence of Angel City FC, women’s football franchises have seen a surge in professionalising all aspects of their operations from investing in infrastructure, analytics, and brand growth. With smart business orientated ownership, the league is becoming a testing ground for how women’s sport can operate at scale.

Legends’ Chris Hibbs praised Denver’s ambition: “Denver Summit FC’s exceptional ownership group is laying the foundation for a team that will create lasting value for its community and fans. It has a clear, long-term vision for the club that is poised to contribute significantly to the women’s sports landscape, and we’re proud to support that mission.”

The club’s ownership, led by Rob Cohen of IMA Financial Group and the Project Level investment fund, has already secured its first founding partner in CommonSpirit Health, and more are expected to follow.
