Premier League attendances hold steady

October 28 – Premier League stadiums operated at 97.99% capacity across matchweek nine this season according to IWF analysis of official attendances.

That edges above the campaign average of 97.75% so far, confirming that demand remains remarkably stable despite uneven early-season form in some areas of the table.

The outlier were Wolverhampton Wanderers, whose 90.85% turnout pulled the overall figure down below the 98% mark. Nearly 3,000 seats at Molineux were left cold, reflecting growing discontent as the club languishes at the bottom of the table with just two points.

Elsewhere, the “99% Club” – comprised of Newcastle United, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Brentford – again demonstrated the pulling power of on-field momentum.

Averaging over 99% in attendance this season, the Bees should perhaps consider expanding beyond their 17,500-seater Gtech Community Stadium: a ground they have clearly outgrown.

Overall, Matchweek 9 recorded the highest average capacity since week four, underlining the Premier League’s continued resilience in fan engagement metrics. Even as Wolves’ troubles distort the curve, the league remains an unparalleled benchmark for attendance consistency across global sport.
