October 30 – The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) has announced the start of a strategic project in cooperation with FIFA: the broadcasting of Bulgarian football matches on the global streaming platform, FIFA+.
This significant step follows the signing of a cooperation agreement between the BFU and FIFA, concluding several months of joint work to implement the necessary technical and organisational processes.
On Wednesday, the world governing body announced that it will relaunch FIFA+, its in-house streaming platform, in partnership with DAZN. The so called ‘Global Home of Football’ will provide live and on demand coverage of top-tier football, with the BFU keen to champion its competitions on the service.
FC Puldin Plovdiv vs. PFC Ludogorets Razgrad in the Bulgarian women’s State Championship will be the first aired match of the agreement, with the contest streamed on FIFA+ this Saturday.
The launch of this project is a crucial move toward popularising women’s football in Bulgaria. It provides an unprecedented opportunity for Bulgarian clubs and players to gain global visibility through free broadcasting to audiences worldwide.
“The BFU is committed to developing the project further, with plans to gradually add new matches and events to the platform in the future. This will include fixtures from the Elite Youth Group (U18), ensuring broader representation of Bulgarian talent,” the BFU statement reads.
