Nike expands into new Baller league with 2-year deal

November 12 – Nike has agreed a two-year partnership with Baller League, the small-sided football competition rapidly expanding across Europe and into the United States.

The deal makes Nike the official apparel and equipment provider for the tournament, supplying match kits, training gear, referee uniforms and official match balls across its operations in the UK, Germany and the US.

It marks another commercial step forward for Baller League, which has grown quickly from a niche creator-led project into a structured six-a-side competition attracting millions of online viewers.

By leveraging the significant online reach of the league’s managers – which include a mix of former players including Micah Richards and Ian Wright, accompanied by internet stars such as Simon ‘Miniminter’ Minter and Niko Omilana – Baller League positions itself at the crossroads of digital suitability and genuine sporting competition.

The online-centric approach allows for on-going storylines and engages a younger demographic – with many of its managers already digitally native.

The league has made inroads in Germany, where Nike previously supplied kits for the Final Four in Berlin, and will now extend that collaboration to all active regions.

The agreement also extends Nike’s push into non-traditional football formats. While financial terms were not disclosed, the deal positions Baller League alongside one of sport’s most powerful brands.

Felix Starck, CEO of Baller League, said: “To have Nike on board as our official partner is not just a milestone, it’s a statement. Nike has always been synonymous with creative, dynamic football, supporting the game at every level, and this partnership sets a new benchmark for small-sided football. Together with Nike, we want to create moments that move football culture forward while giving our players the elite-level gear they need to perform at their best.”
