Barking mad: Malaysian fans land FA with fine over ‘dogs’ chant

November 1 – Malaysia has been fined US$30,000 by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after the national team’s fans described both Singapore and Brunei fans as “dogs” during matches at the South-East Asian (SEA) Games.

The fans chanted ‘Brunei dogs should just be killed’ during Malaysia’s 2-1 victory at the Kuala Lumpur-hosted tournament in August. Two days later, the fans did the same thing against Singapore.

The AFC’s disciplinary committee fined the Football Association of Malaysia US$15,000 for each of the offences
