March 3 – The Croatian Football Association (HNS) has selected Croatian construction company Kamgrad to build its National Football Camp in Velika Gorica.
After the location permit and then the building permit for the construction of the HNS football camp was secured in 2024, a tender for the construction contract was issued on November 12, 2024, which lasted until January 15 of this year.
After an analysis of the received bids, and then negotiations with a narrow circle of bidders, the Commission for the review proposed Kamgrad to the Executive Board, who accepted the recommendation.
In 2023 the Croatian government and the HNS signed a land donation agreement for the construction of a national football camp in Velika Gorica, just south of Zagreb. The plot measures about 92,000 square meters in area and is worth €4.2 million. The HNS had requested a land donation to build four pitches and a multi-function sports hall with accommodation and catering facilities.
“By selecting the contractor, we have fulfilled another prerequisite for the start of work on our strategic project, the construction of the Croatian Football Federation’s football camp. I would like to thank the Executive Board for its strong support for this project, the infrastructure department for its successful management of the project, and everyone who supports us in this project – the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the city of Velika Gorica, and our architects,” said HNS President Marijan Kustić .
Following the signing of the construction contract between HNS and Kamgrad in March, construction activities in Velika Gorica are expected to begin in early April.
“I would like to thank all bidders for the effort, interest and professionalism they showed during this process, after which the Commission unanimously assessed that Kamgrad’s offer was the best. I am convinced that we have a partner who will be maximally dedicated to this project, which they have shown through their communication so far,” said Andrea Dokuš, Head of the Infrastructure Department at HNS.
