October 6 – The AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 is shaping up to be one of the hottest tickets in Australian sport, with the Matildas’ group-stage fixtures already driving record-breaking demand according to local organisers.
Tickets for Australia’s clash with Iran at the Gold Coast Stadium on March 5 are almost completely sold out, marking the tournament’s first near-sell-out just days after going on sale and with just under five months until kickoff.
The Matildas’ home Asian Cup campaign follows Australia’s successful joint hosting of a record-breaking World Cup in 2023 that grew throughout the competition.
Australia will open in Perth on March 1, when Australia will face the Philippines in front of what is expected to be a sold-out Perth Stadium for the official Opening Ceremony.
Across the three host cities of Perth, Gold Coast and Sydney, ticket sales have been strong for both the knockout rounds and the final.
The 12-team tournament will feature Australia, Bangladesh, China PR, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, India, IR Iran, Japan, Korea Republic, Philippines, Vietnam and Uzbekistan, playing 27 matches spanning three weeks from 1st to 21st March.
With adult tickets starting at just $20 and children’s tickets at $10, organisers are urging fans to act quickly.
“The Gold Coast is on the verge of delivering the tournament’s first sell-out, a milestone that shows just how much excitement is building around next year’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup,” said Sarah Walsh, Chief Operating Officer of the Local Organising Committee.
“The Matildas’ matches and the knockouts are generating incredible demand, and this will be the first of many sell-outs still to come. Every game of this tournament will showcase world-class talent and unforgettable football, so we’re urging fans not to wait. Secure your seats now before it’s too late.”
