October 16 – Tottenham Hotspur continue to overhaul their executive team with the latest addition being the return of Fabio Paratici as joint-sporting director alongside Johan Lange.
Paratici, 53, rejoins Spurs following the end of his 30-month ban from football activity that stemmed from financial malpractice charges during his time at Juventus. The Italian, who first joined Tottenham in 2021, will share control of the men’s football strategy.
“This partnership reflects a progressive approach to modern football operations,” Spurs said in a statement. “It unites two proven leaders with complementary experience and a commitment to collaboration and innovation.”
Club CEO Vinai Venkatesham, described the move as part of “an important evolution” in how Tottenham operates. Combined with Thomas Frank’s appointment as head coach and the departure of long-serving figures like Daniel Levy and Donna-Maria Cullen, it signals a new era in both boardroom and dugout.
For Paratici, the role of sporting director has changed dramatically since his Juventus days. “We need more people and specialists,” he said. “There are so many departments to manage — transfers, scouting, player welfare. I’m passionate, Johan is analytical — together, we balance each other.”
Whether this new leadership team can steady the ship and cement the club as a permanent member of the ‘Big 6’ remains to be seen.
