October 31 – Football Australia has teamed up with Fanatics, a global leader in licensed sports merchandise.
Fanatics will take charge of Football Australia’s official online store, delivering a range of CommBank Matildas and Socceroos gear to supporters locally and abroad. Fan identity is one of the fastest-growing platforms in the football world, as sports and fashion seamlessly blend to create a unifying experience in and out of stadiums.
“Football has millions of passionate fans in Australia who love showing their support for the CommBank Socceroos and CommBank Matildas,” said Football Australia Interim CEO Heather Garriock. “Football Australia’s merchandise strategy, delivered by Fanatics, will enable us to serve our fans in a way that was not possible before. With a growing number of Socceroos and Matildas players based in overseas leagues, and with many Australian fans based internationally, it was important that we could extend our reach into international markets.”
Fanatics will use its global platform and on-demand manufacturing model to give supporters easier access to official gear.
“Football in Australia is experiencing incredible momentum, and we’re proud to partner with Football Australia at such a pivotal and exciting moment for the sport in this country,” said Stephen Dowling, International President at Fanatics. “This new partnership cements Fanatics’ role as the trusted partner for leading clubs, leagues, and sports organisations across Oceania. Supporters of both the CommBank Matildas and the CommBank Socceroos can look forward to an enhanced, more connected shopping experience.”
Dowling added that Fanatics’ expanding Australian presence will be on full display at upcoming major tournaments, including the 2026 World Cup in the United States – a moment he said will give the team “a warm welcome” in the company’s founding market.
Expect to see the green and gold everywhere next summer as the Aussies celebrate qualifying for their seventh consecutive World Cup.
