Arab Cup Qatar 2025 mascot Juha unveiled in time for play-ins that start tonight

November 24 – Qatari organisers have unveiled literary character Juha as the mascot for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025  that will be played December 1-18.

Inspired by one of the most popular characters from the history of Arab literature, Juha “embodies the rich folkloric traditions of the region,” said the tournament organisers.

“Often depicted as a clumsy and slow-witted man who finds himself in humorous situations due to his strange antics, Juha’s tales, wildly popular across generations in the Arab world, always ends up in a revelation of profound wisdom.”

The Arab Cup will be contested by 16 teams. Nine of the highest FIFA ranked teams have qualified automatically, while 14 teams will play-off for the remaining 7 spots in a series of qualifiers. The qualifying matches start today (Tuesday November 25) in Qatar.

The tournament’s opening match will be played December 1 at Al Bayt Stadium featuring hosts Qatar and the winner of the Palestine v Libya play-off.

The play-off ties are Mauritania-Kuwait, Syria-South Sudan, Oman-Somalia, Bahrain-Djibouti, Sudan-Lebanon, and Comoros-Yemen.

The Final will be held on December 18 at the iconic Lusail Stadium.

Other stadiums hosting matches are Ahmad Bin Ali, Education City, Khalifa International and Stadium 974.

Ticket prices start from QAR 25 and supporters can also purchase a Follow My Team ticket, for the group stage. Organisers have promised a variety of entertainment and cultural activities during the tournament.

All tickets will be digital and will include accessible seating options for disabled fans.
