December 4 – EA Sports and UEFA have confirmed the eight finalists for eEURO 2025 – a tournament that feels fully embedded in Europe’s competitive gaming landscape and another clear sign of EA’s accelerating momentum in the Esports space.
The finals, staged at Twickenham Stadium on 13 December, will offer a USD $100,000 prize pool and a path into the FC Pro World Championship Play-Ins. After a strong debut edition last year, the eEURO has quickly become a marquee touchpoint between traditional football culture and elite-level virtual competition on the national team stage.
EA’s Head of Esports Monica Dinsmore said the event captures “the core of what makes international football so special – national pride and passionate fandom,” and this year’s edition reflects that more than ever.
“We’re excited to see some of the top EA SPORTS FC competitors take the global stage, represent their countries, and compete for the title of Europe’s best,” Dinsmore added.
The 50-nation qualifying campaign, held in October using a Swiss format and double-elimination bracket, has produced what EA describes as a genuinely elite final eight.
Defending champion Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang returns as the man to beat, aiming to add an eEURO repeat to an already formidable record. Italy’s Francesco “Obrun2002” Tagliafierro – the first Italian to reach back-to-back FC Pro World Championships – brings pedigree, while Netherlands star Emre “EmreYilmaz” Yilmaz arrives fresh from winning the 2025 eChampions League. He is also top of his FC Pro Open group with five straight wins last week.
England’s own Dan “Stingray” Ray will relish competing on home turf, Romania’s Razvan “RvPLegend” Pulu makes his finals debut, Germany’s Jonas “Jonny” Wirth looks to rediscover his 2024 European title form, Israel’s Yuval “Yuval” Blizo returns after finishing runner-up at last year’s FC Pro World Championship, and Switzerland’s Gianluca “gianluca_m17” Mautone completes a high-quality field.
EA revealed that fans can follow every match across UEFA’s YouTube, Instagram Live and TikTok channels, as well as EA SPORTS FC’s Twitch and YouTube platforms.
