Toronto FC’s AC Redlac crowned eMLS Cup champion

April 14 – Toronto FC’s AC Redlac has been crowned eMLS Cup champion for 2026, defeating New York City FC representative Stingray in the final on Sunday to secure top spot in Major League Soccer’s official esports competition.

The victory caps another cycle for eMLS, the league’s video gaming arm, built around the EA Sports FC ecosystem, and carries a share of the $100,000 prize pool on offer across the tournament.

Players represent MLS clubs in the competition.

eMLS has become a fixed part of MLS’s wider commercial strategy in recent years, sitting within a broader push to engage younger and more digitally native audiences.

Built around EA Sports FC – the North American market’s leading football gaming title and a direct rival to Konami’s eFootball – the competition provides a route into the global FC Pro ecosystem, including qualification opportunities for the FC Pro World Championship in Riyadh this summer, and is supported by ESL FACEIT Group (EFG).
