US and Olympique Lyon dominate vote for FIFPro 2016 Women’s World XI team

March 9 – The US leads the list of countries represented in the FIFPro 2016 Women’s World XI with four players – Hope Solo, Carli Lloyd, Ali Krieger and Alex Morgan – making the final cut. The team includes players from six countries, including two from Olympic Gold medal winners Germany.

March 9 – CONCACAF has signed Post Consumer Brands as an official sponsor of the 2017 Gold Cup to be played in the US this June. No figure has been announced for the one-tournament only deal.

Germany vs Turkey in run-off to win Euro 2024 finals hosting

March 9 – Germany and Turkey will go head-to-head for the right to host the 2024 European Championship finals, UEFA have announced. The two federations were the only ones to submit a declaration of interest before the March 3 deadline after Scandinavian countries could not put together a credible bid.
