May 29 – The official charged with enforcing proper financial controls at FIFA after a spate of corruption scandals has launched an astonishing attack on Jack Warner and Chuck Blazer, the disgraced duo who led CONCACAF for the best part of a generation.

May 29 – FIFA’s executive committee may have been split on the reform package they are to put to Friday’s Congress vote, but they did find concensus on other matters, including the awarding of tournament hosts, shortlisting of tournament bids and an update on next year’s World Cup.

May 29 – The man leading the global fight to wipe racism out of football has confirmed that players and officials face five-match bans and that clubs and national teams face points deductions, stadium closures, relegation and being thrown out of competitions if found guilty of abuse.

May 29 – Sepp Blatter’s personal crusade to clean up FIFA after years of scandal and corruption has taken a massive hit with the news that age restrictions and term of office limits for FIFA officials – viewed as a key part of the two-year road map to reform – have been dropped from the agenda at Friday’s annual congress.

May 16 – FIFA has announced the final sponsor partner in its World Cup programme, signing Centauro, south America’s leading sports retailer, as a National Supporter. The announcement was made by FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke in Rio following a meeting of the local organising committee board.

May 16 – Jeffrey Webb, chairman of Fifa’s recently established Anti-Racism and Discrimination Task Force, has issued his own scathing indictment of the Italian authorities for only fining Roma over last weekend’s racist abuse by their fans towards three Milan players.

EA SPORTS stays in the game with FIFA license renewal to end 2022

May 8 – FIFA and EA SPORTS have extended their existing licensing agreement until December 31, 2022. EA SPORTS has exclusive rights to release FIFA-branded action and management videogames as well as the official FIFA World Cup videogame.

May 8 – Never mind if the Maracana will be open on time, it looks like the fans will be turning up whether it is ready or not. FIFA reports that tickets for the Confederation Cup are selling well with 71.2% of the total inventory for the tournament now sold.
