December 11 – FIFA has received three bids to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup, the global governing body confirmed Saturday.
November 30 – South Africa have dropped out of the race for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, reducing the bidding field to three bids. The Africans want to focus on landing the 2031 finals.

September 27 – Gelsenkirchen, the home of Schalke 04, has been named as a candidate host city for the 2027 Women’s World Cup bid by Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
April 20 – The US and Mexico have thrown their hat into the ring with a joint bid for the 2027 Women’s World Cup. They will rival bids by Brazil and South Africa as well as the European triumvirate of Belgium, Netherlands and Germany.
