July 1 – Inter Milan’s Club World Cup campaign came to a limp end on Monday evening as Fluminense secured a 2-0 win in Charlotte, knocking the Nerazurri out at the Round of 16 stage and sending a second Brazilian club into the quarter-finals.

July 1 – Michelle Kang has taken over at troubled French club Olympique Lyonnais, which under the ownership of John Textor has been relegated to Ligue 2 on a provisional basis by domestic financial watchdog the DNCG over financial irregularities.

Vancouver offers to host more World Cup games if US politics and extreme weather is too hot to handle

June 1 – Canadian province British Columbia has written to FIFA offering to take on more games at the 2026 FIFA World Cup next summer if a number of US cities currently scheduled to host are deemed inappropriate and dangerous to player and spectator health following the extreme heat conditions that have plagued the current Club World Cup.
