LAFC agree record $100m stadium naming rights deal with Canada’s BMO

January 22 – LAFC’s Banc of California stadium in Los Angeles is changing its name following a $100 million deal with the Bank of Montreal (BMO). It is the largest stadium naming rights deal in MLS.

January 5 – Danielle Reyna, the mother of US midfielder Giovanni Reyna, has come forward saying she told U.S. Soccer of the domestic violence incident involving US coach Gregg Berhalter in 1991.

Berhalter forced to face his past as US Soccer plots future path

January 4 – USA men’s coach Gregg Berhalter, whose contract ended at the end of year, was threatened by a blackmailer at the Qatar 2022 over an incident in 1991, when he was 18 years old.

TTFA creditors kept waiting as deal to settle debt hits trust issues over reform conditions

December 22 – It looks like the Trinidad and Tobago FA’s creditors will once again be the turkeys this Christmas. Having agreed to a proposed settlement via a court appointed trustee, the proposed payment this month has been shelved.

December 21 – The fledgling Canadian Premier League (CPL), set to enter its fourth season, will in future negotiate its contracted players’ terms and conditions with the Professional Footballers Association of Canada (PFA Canada) under a collective bargaining agreement.

New report finds on-going ‘misconduct’ in US women’s professional game

December 15 – A joint investigation unit commissioned by the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and their players association (NWSLPA) has found widespread, ongoing misconduct in the top-flight North American league, according to a report released on Wednesday.

Having lost his appeal against extradition to the US, earlier this week he lost a first round legal battle with Concacaf over a long running dispute concerning the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence in Macoya, Trinidad.

November 15 – Concacaf has extended its partnership with Host Broadcast Services (HBS) for the next four years until December 2026 to provide broadcast coverage for its it major competitions including the Gold Cup, W Gold Cup, W Championship, Nations League Finals and Champion’s League.
