November 25 – John Delaney, the chief executive of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI), tonight claimed that FIFA President Sepp Blatter had deliberately avoided getting involved in the debate over Thierry Henry’s handball (pictured) because he did not having to make a tough decision.

Derry City thrown out of League of Ireland

November 8 – Former champions Derry City have been stripped of their contract to compete in the League of Ireland Premier Division after a crisis meeting with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) at Abbotstown this afternoon found the club to have held “secondary unofficial contracts with its players”.
