CAF chief Veron Mosengo-Omba quits as AFCON final controversy continues

March 30 – Controversial Confederation of African Football (CAF) general secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba has resigned following growing calls for his exit. He leaves following demands for an investigation into alleged corruption within the organisation and the recent debacle over the CAF decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON title.

In a statement Mosengo-Omba said he was retiring from football to pursue “more personal projects”.
