England’s Euro 2012 hopes dashed as Rooney is dealt three-match suspension

October 13 – England’s hopes of winning their first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup were dealt a crushing blow today when UEFA’s disciplinary body banned Wayne Rooney for effectively the entire group phase of the Euro 2012 finals.

Vinci gets go ahead for Bordeaux Stadium

July 22 – Mayor of Bordeaux Alain Juppé has announced that the Vinci Concession and Fayat architectural group has won the right to construct a new stadium in the city, which will host games at the 2016 European Championships.
