May 17 – Nationwide strikes in France against the ‘Loi Travail’ labour laws threaten to disrupt the smooth running of the Euro 2016 Championship this summer, particularly when it comes to travelling around the country.

May 16 – The head of the European Union’s police agency says he is “extremely concerned” about a possible attack on Euro 2016 in France, saying the tournament is an “attractive target” for terrorists.

May 6 – The opening match of EURO 2016 is struggling to sell out. On April 26 UEFA released a final batch of tickets for its flagship event but the showpiece opener at Paris’ Stade de France still has seats available.

UEFA calls in Hawk-Eye to keep everything in line at Euros

April 20 – UEFA have confirmed that the Hawk-Eye system will be used to decide whether or not the ball has crossed the line at this year’s European Championships. The camera-based system will be installed in all 10 stadia before the tournament kicks off on June 10 at the Stade de France.

April 12 – As he awaits the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over his six-year ban from football, Michel Platini has been assured by the organisers that he can attend this summer’s European Championship finals in his homeland – even if the CAS judgement goes against him.
