May 20 – In a damning indictment of Pacific Media Group’s (PMG) football club ownership model, Belgium’s KV Oostende is facing bankruptcy after the club failed to find a new owner.
February 5 – Danish club Esbjerg fB, relegated from the top tier Superliga last season but currently in second place in Division 1, is the latest club to come under the control of Pacific Media Group who are partnering in the acquisition with Chien Lee, Partners Path Capital, and Krishen Sud.
December 20 – A second-tier unheralded club in the industrial north of England with a relatively small but loyal and passionate fan base surrounded by larger rivals may not seem the most obvious target for a foreign takeover.
September 18 – The £20 million takeover of Championship club Barnsley looks likely to complete in the next two weeks when the English Football League complete their integrity tests on the proposed new ownership group of Chinese billionaire Chien Lee and US businessman Paul Conway.
