February 22 – Chelsea have passed the 8 million mark in twitter followers, third only to Arsenal with 9.2 million and Manchester United with 10.2 million. Looking at the weekly figures Chelsea’s gain was still almost 16,000 behind Arsenal’s 67,400 new followers for the week.
Manchester United maintained their table topping lead with the greatest increase in number of followers for the week with 74,400.
Twitter activity was greater among the Manchester teams this week with Man City and Man Utd both just short of making 250 tweets each.
The greatest percentage growth in Twitter followers was seen by Burnley with 1.2% and Bournemouth with 0.93% growth.
Man Utd and Arsenal were in equal third place in terms of percentage growth with 0.73%. Average growth amongst the PL teams is 0.63% for the week down from 0.69% of last week.
