2019 Women’s World Cup schedule agreed with kick off in Paris and final in Lyons

February 9 – FIFA has agreed the match schedule for the Women’s World Cup France 2019 which will see the competition open in Paris on June 7 with the final in Lyons, the hotbed of French and European women’s club football, on July 7.

France 2019 will be the eighth edition of the now 24-team tournament, and the third time it has been held in Europe.

Nine cities will host matches that will see round-of-16 matches (June 22-25) played in Paris, Valenciennes, Le Havre, Reims, Paris, Rennes, Grenoble, Nice and Montpellier, quarter-final matches (June 27-29) in Valenciennes, Le Havre, Paris and Rennes, semi-final matches (July 2-3) in Lyon, and the match for third place (July 6) in Nice.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin who chairs the Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions, expressed confidence in what he expects to be a “great” tournament, saying: “In less than 18 months’ time, France will host the biggest competition in women’s football. Following on from the launch of the official slogan and emblem at the Musée de l’Homme in September 2017, the unveiling of the match schedule is yet another milestone on the road to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019.”

FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018

As well as confirming the 2019 schedule Ceferin’s committee also unveiled the match schedule for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018

The 16-team competition will take place in the Uruguayan cities of Colonia, Maldonado and Montevideo from November 13 to December 1.

Montevideo will host the bulk of the games with 18 of 32 matches. Colonia del Sacramento to host eight games and Maldonado six matches. The official draw will take place in Zurich on May 30.
