Portugal fuelled by second World Cup sponsor from China, Eastroc Super Drink

March 26 – European Champions Portugal have added a second national team sponsor from China for the 2018 Russia World Cup. Eastroc Super Drink with be the Portuguese team’s Official Energy Drink. 

Two weeks ago Hangzhou Wahaha Group become an official sponsor of the Portuguese national team. Hangzhou Wahaha Group is China’s largest beverage producer focussed on soft drinks, water and milk products.

Eastroc Super Drink is one of China’s best-selling local energy drink brands with the third largest market share in China after Red Bull and Hi-Tiger.

Jiang Weiwei, Deputy General Manager of Eastroc Super Drink Group, said “that joining forces with such an outstanding team is the best choice for the company to combine its brand image with sports, as well as reaching young people and becoming a global brand.”

Eastroc has targeted football to grow its brand and earlier this month signed on as the Official Supplier of the 2018/2019 Chinese Super League (CSL). The drinks firm will also be one of the sponsors of CCTV broadcasts for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Signing with one of the World Cup favourites will likely give the brand a long run in the tournament.
