€100m Ronaldo to swap Real Madrid for Juventus?

July 5 – Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up an offer of around €100 million from Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The sticking point would appear to be Ronaldo’s wages of around €30 million per season but Juve are apparently confident of acquiring Real’s all-time top scorer who won his fifth Champions League title with them in May.

At 33, Ronaldo has maybe three seasons left but Juve believe he would still prove good value. As for Real, they need to reshape a squad that finished 17 points behind La Liga champions Barcelona last season.

Since beating Liverpool in Kiev, Zinedine Zidane has quit as Real coach and been replaced by former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui.

Any move would eclipse Juventus’ record transfer fee of €90 million which they paid for Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain in 2016. It would also be more than the £80 million Real paid Manchester United for Ronaldo in 2009.
