Everton target US fanbase with launch of dedicated social media platforms

September 28 – Premier League Everton are launching two new social media platforms focused on content for American Evertonians. @EvertoninUSA will being posting content on both Twitter and Instagram starting today.

The launch of @EvertoninUSA coincides with NBC Sports and the Premier League’s fan festival event as part of ‘Premier League Mornings Live’ on Saturday September 29.

event, takes place at Capitol View at 400 N. Capitol Street, and is being hosted by both NBC Sports and the Premier League with fans gathering to watch all of the day’s games, including Everton’s home fixture against Fulham

Scott McLeod, Head of Engagement at Everton, said: “We have a passionate and growing US fanbase and look forward to meeting some of them at the Premier League Fan Festival.

“We have been working on how we can engage and develop specific content for American Blues through our two new US facing social media channels. This is part of an international engagement strategy and follows on from the successful launch of our Turkish Twitter account.”

Everton boasts a number of US connections with former academy graduate Wayne Rooney playing for DC United, whilst Everton fan favourite Tim Cahill at New York Red Bulls.

Young Everton left-back Antonee Robinson has already earned four senior caps for the USA, following in the footsteps of Tim Howard (long career at Everton) and Landon Donovan (shorter but impactful career at Everton). Everton hall of famer Adrian Heath is currently managing Minnesota United.
