Women’s World Cup trophy arrives in France for 9-city tour

May 13 – With less than a month to go before the Women’s World Cup June 7 kick-off in France, the trophy is the first arrival in country and will begin a national tour.

To date the trophy has toured the 24 qualifying nations. Now it will undertake a two week, nine city tour, starting in Paris, where the opening match between France and Korea Republic on June 7 will be played, and concluding in Lyon, the fvenue for the final on July 7.

SNCF, a national sponsor of the World Cup, will showcase the trophy on its trains as it is transported between cities. The trophy will visit stadiums, local schools and city councils, and will met at various times by FIFA Legends on its tour.

Le Havre: Wednesday, 15 May 
Reims: Thursday, 16 May
Valenciennes: Friday, 17 May
Rennes: Monday, 20 May 
Grenoble: Tuesday, 21 May 
Montpellier: Wednesday, 22 May 
Nice: Thursday, 23 May 
Lyon: Friday, 24 May
