December 9 – UEFA is set to launch a new tender for official match ball and equipment supplier status for its club competitions. The period covered is the commercial cycle 2021 to 2024.
Termed ‘sports category’, the packages will “include the right to produce and market both the official match ball and sports equipment and apparel (including footwear) for the relevant competitions,” said UEFA in a press release.
Champions League (including the Super Cup, Youth League and Futsal Champions League Finals) and for the Europa League / Europa Conference League, will be tendered separately. Adidas currently hold the Champions League contract while Molten hold the ball contract for the Europa League.
TEAM Marketing are running the tender process which will be officially launched on December 16, with bids to be submitted by 7 February 2020.
