February 24 – UEFA has agreed a sponsorship with Hublot for its women’s competitions as well as its Together #WePlayStrong platform that aims to get more girls and women involved in the game.
For the Women’s EURO 2021 in England, Hublot will be an official tournament partner, providing Hublot electronic referee boards used by fourth officials to indicate additional time and substitutions.
The partnership will also see Hublot become a main partner of the Women’s Champions League, the Women’s Under-19 and Under-17 Championships and the Women’s Futsal EURO.
Hublot follow major brands Nike, VISA and Esprit into the European women’s game. UEFA unbundled its marketing rights from the men’s game in 2017.
“The appeal of women’s football is growing at an impressive rate and we are delighted to have such a prestigious brand as Hublot joining us as a partner, who are committed to promoting the women’s game,” said Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA.
“Agreeing partnerships with world famous brands like Hublot is exactly the kind of results we envisaged when we unbundled the rights from the men’s game over two years ago and is proof women’s football can be supported on its own merits.”
