Bayern and Google partner in Germany, but deal detail under wraps

February 27  – For a partnership between two of the biggest companies and football clubs on the planet, details of the new deal between Bayern Munich and Google are pretty thin.

Bayern announced the deal (for the German market) with the digital technology giant saying that Google are launching a voting campaign around the club’s 120th anniversary where Bayern fans will be able to vote for their most emotional moment in the club’s history using Google Voting.

No term or value was given for the deal though Bayern said there would be more collaboration than just using the voting tech. It is the first time a football club has used Google Voting – there are a myriad of other voting software option available.

“As a leading technology brand, Google is constantly innovating and creating new products for an ever-changing market, similar to the deep-rooted values of FC Bayern,” said FC Bayern Munich’s President of the Americas, Rudolf Vidal. “We are pleased to kick-off this unique alliance during our 120th anniversary year and look forward to exciting collaborations in the future,” he added.

More detail is excitedly awaited.
