Konami and Cygames to co-exist as Juventus unveil new shirt deal

July 9 – After a one-season separation, Juventus and Cygames are back together with the Japanese video game developer taking the Italian champions’ back-of-shirt position.

The two-year deal, running to the end of 2022, is estimated to be worth €10 million and will see the Cygames alongside rival Japanese video gamemaker Konami as a club sponsor.

Cygames pulled out of its back-of-shirt deal at the start of the 2019/20 season when Konami became the club’s official video game and licensing partner with its Pro Evolution Soccer title. Cygames does not have a football game but does have football themes in its comic output.

The Konami deal is a three year deal.

“With Cygames we have experienced exhilarating moments, marked by prestigious victories, and now we are back on the path towards new goals,” said Giorgio Ricci, Chief Revenue Officer of Juventus.

“The fact that the partnership resumes today, after difficult months like the last, is a further sign of how strong the synergy between the two brands is, which share the momentum, energy, a strong desire to start again, and who look towards the future with positivity.”
