Mondelēz takes its Willy Wonka act to Arsenal with Cadbury’s deal

August 17 – Confectionary business Mondelēz International has added a fourth Premier League club to its sponsorship roster, with its Cadbury brand becoming the Official Snacking Partner of Arsenal.

Earlier this year Mondelēz secured global sponsorships with Manchester United and Spurs, while earlier this month Chelsea joined the Cadbury sponsorship programme. No figures have been given for any of the sponsorships.

Arsenal fans will be able to enjoy Cadbury products inside Emirates Stadium and will have opportunities “to win millions of club prizes, including hospitality experiences, match tickets and vouchers redeemable in The Armoury and our online store”, said a club press release.

The promotion will run across “more than 180 million” Cadbury products with the Cadbury’s Match and Win promotion being the cornerstone of the marketing activation.

As part of the launch Cadbury is supporting the Little Wonder Café opposite the Emirates Stadium on Hornsey Road which was forced to temporarily close for the first time in its 100-year history during lockdown.  and has since been struggling due to the loss of matchday and local custom.

Cadbury has bought 500 Little Wonder meal vouchers that will be donated to Arsenal in the Community. The first 500 customers to eat at the café will also receive a complimentary Arsenal branded bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Arsenal Commercial Director, Peter Silverstone, said: “Cadbury and Arsenal are both rooted in supporting and nurturing the community, and it’s brilliant we can use our partnership to help a local Islington business get back on its feet. We are excited to carry forward the community spirit of giving back as we look to do things differently throughout our partnership together.”
