eToro buys into Saints and Leicester for another season

September 18 – Trading platform eToro has renewed sponsorships with Premier League clubs Southampton and Leicester City for the 2020/21 season in one-year deals.

Both Saints and Leicester first partnered with eToro in 2018.

At both clubs eToro will have in-stadia branding on LEDs and media backdrops as well as a focus on creating unique content and experiences using former playing legends. With Saints eToro ran a competition that offered the opportunity for fans to win a seat on a chartered ‘Le Tiss Air’ flight for the Manchester City away match.

eToro’s trading platform offers a range of investments from stocks and commodities to cryptoassets like bitcoin. The platform allows users to trade on their own, copy another investor, or invest in a portfolio. It currently has 14 million users with accounts.

eToro Global Sponsorship Manager, Dylan Holman in press releases from both clubs emphasised eToro’s “ongoing commitment” and an emphasis “on creating new fan activations which bring them closer to the action, along with continuing to help educate people on investing.”

Southampton Football Club’s Chief Commercial Officer, David Thomas, said: “We are delighted to be renewing our relationship with eToro, a recognised leader in the financial industry. At Southampton, we’re committed to technology and innovation and as such, we’re excited to continue where we left off with a valued partner.”
