Maradona hospitalised for three days of tests

November 3 – Argentine great Diego Maradona has been hospitalised at La Plata, about an hour outside Buenos Aires, to undergo tests not reported to be related to coronavirus.

Maradona, who turned 60 last Friday and coaches a local club Gimnasia y Esgrima, was admitted with undisclosed “health problems” according to Argentine media.

He had been feeling poorly for some time and will be held under observation for “at least three days”, his personal physician told reporters.

“He’s not as well as I would like and as well as I know he can be. He needs help, this is the time to help him.  He could be 10,000 times better. It’s very difficult being Maradona.”

Maradona has suffered frequent periods of ill-health over the years, often put down to his  extravagant lifestyle.

In January 2019 he suffered internal bleeding in the stomach and the previous year fell ill during the World Cup in Russia.
