December 2 – LaLiga has partnered with mobile technology company Mondia group to launch a subscription-based mobile focussed platform offering exclusive content and experiences. Called LaLiga Xtra, the content service will launch “in the coming months”.
Subscriptions will priced in daily, weekly or monthly packages and will provide video, images, articles, and infographics as well as upcoming fixtures and in-depth player and club info – but not live streamed matches.
The multi-language platform will offer quizzes, a prediction challenge and LaLiga’s fantasy football game. Exclusive interactive experiences will be available to LaLiga Xtra subscribers, including the chance to take part in a live chat with a LaLiga Ambassador.
Roll out of the platform will initially be in the Middle East and Africa regions with 70 countries – as part of a global roll-out – lined up to host the platform that will be available on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Hosting in the Middle East and Africa will be within the Orange ecosystem.

Our goal has always been to get closer to fans across the Middle East and Africa to show everything that Spanish football has to offer.”
Mondia has reached 1.4 billion global users and hosts entertainment brands including Disney, Nintendo, Sony, and Universal. Mondia Pay, will be the official digital payment partner. Mondia and Orange will lead the marketing push to subscribers.
LaLiga said that the platform will be expanded to other telecoms partners as it develops.
