Rodriguez and Mina score for Everton in Colombian market with Rushbet deal

December 21 – Premier League Everton have traded on their Colombian links of James Rodriguez and Yerry Mina with the club’s first sponsorship from the country.

Online bookmaker Rushbet.coo has signed a multi-year to become Everton’s ‘Official Betting Partner in Colombia’. No value was given for the deal.

Rushbet.co will principally receive online presence and access to Everton’s marks, image and creative assets for promotional campaigns.

Everton says it has seen an “upsurge in sales of merchandise, significant media interest in the Club, record audiences for Premier League fixtures, (and) an exponential increase in website traffic on a weekly basis” from Colombia.

When Rodriguez’s was signed the club lit up the Colpatria Tower, in Bogota, the tallest building in Colombia, in blue with the number 19.

Rushbet.co is the first US-based company to open a online gaming website in Colombia and South America.

Omar Calvo, general manager at Rushbet.com, said: “We are proud that our first partnership in the Premier League is with Everton Football Club, and that we have become the Club’s first Colombian partner, as they seek to expand in the South American market. The English Premier League and the Everton brands are extremely powerful, and we believe that having two of our most beloved Colombians on their main team makes it stronger.”

Commenting on Everton’s growing fanbase in Colombia, commercial director Alan McTavish said: “Our new deal with Rush Street Interactive Colombia and its brand, which includes the Club featuring in a national television advertising campaign, shows the significant inroads we have made in South America and is part of our wider international growth strategy.”
