German and Colombian leagues get hooked-up with co-operation agreement

October 27 – The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has signed a co-operation agreement with the Colombian División Mayor del Fútbol Colombiano (DIMAYOR) that will see the two leagues  develop joint sports, marketing and management initiatives.

The agreement was announced in Frankfurt at a signing with DFL CEO Christian Seifert (pictured left) and DIMAYOR President Jorge Fernando Perdomo (pictured right).

A DIMAYOR delegation – including executives from 10 of its clubs – is currently on a four-day fact finding visit to Germany.

This weekend they will visit Munich’s two Bundlesliga clubs including a trio to Bayern’s new youth academy. They will also watch Bayern play RB Leipzig before travelling to VfB Stuttgart where they will tour the club’s facilities and youth academy before watching the Baden-Württemberg derby between newly promoted VfB and Sport-Club Freiburg.

As part of the co-operation former German captain Lothar Matthäus will visit Colombian capital Bogotá as part of the ‘Bundesliga Legends Tour’.
