December 11 – Breakthrough Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho has increased his transfer value by more €78 million in the past three months, a bump of more than 800% since the start of the season. Any buyer would now have to pay almost €88 million to sign him.
A ranking of the top 20 Big 5 league players whose transfer values have increased the most since September 1 has been produced by the CIES Football Observatory using their own algorithm. The figures refer to the estimated price for the most likely recruiting club, though the authors say they should be taken as a guide (though they can provide deeper analysis).
“Apart from Sancho, four players have seen their transfer value increase by more than €30 million: Joao Cancelo (Juventus), Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), Richarlison (Everton) and Thilo Kehrer (Paris St-Germain),” says the report.
“Many hot prospects are in the top 20 list of players whose value has risen the most in relative terms. The highest figures per league were recorded for Jadon Sancho in Germany, Moise Kean in Italy, Stanley N’Soki in France, Isaac Success in England and Júnior Firpo in Spain.”
Looking at the leagues where the players with the highest absolute increases come from, nine play in the Premier League, five in Serie A, four in Ligue1, and just one from each of the Bundesliga (Sancho) and LaLiga. Five of the players are qualified for England.
