‘No such thing as a crisis’ – Barnes and Saha headline free webinar line-up today

April 28 – SIGA will hold the first in a new series of webinars today (April 28) focussed on the issues around the fallout of the failure of European Super League.

Titled “No such thing as a crisis: Why the end of the Super League should be the start of governance reform’.

Panelists are John Barnes, former player and manager, Louis Saha, former player and founder of Axisstars, Ashley Brown, head of governance and football liaison at the Football Supporters Association, and Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Global CEO of SIGA and founder and former CEO of the European Leagues. The session will be moderated by Sky Sports presenter Rob McCaffrey.

Under the spotlight will be the motivations and reasons for the failed launch of the breakaway European Super League, its consequences and what European football needs to reform its governance, fix its problems, and ensure its long-term sustainable development. Crucially what do the clubs and football need to do to regain people’s trust.

In an interview with Insideworldfootball earlier today, Macedo de Medeiros set the scene for the debate saying: “This is a true revolution. This is do or die now. If they don’t chop their heads off they will become victims again within a few years time.”

The webinar is free to attend and starts at 16.00 BST.
